About Us

MAUSD Health Center is a collaboration between MAUSD and Mountain Health Center. The goals of this new initiative are to improve student healthcare at Mount Abraham Middle School and High School, reduce the amount of time students are out of school and parents are out of work for medical visits, and empower students to lead healthy lives.

Nurse practitioners and physicians from Mountain Health Center will be at Mt Abe once a week to see students in their mobile unit which will be parked in the lot behind school. Any student at Mt Abe can schedule a visit, whether they are already patients of Mountain Health Center or they have another primary care provider.

Examples of medical conditions we can treat: concussions, wounds and other injuries, strep throat, ear infections, rashes, headaches, stomach aches, and sports injuries.

Students’ primary care provider will be updated when they are seen for a visit at MAUSD Health Center. Students’ health insurance will be billed, when appropriate, using the same procedure as when a student sees their own primary care physician or urgent care. Students without insurance will be eligible for Mountain Health Center’s sliding scale program, based on income.
